The Cornerstone Grace name was chosen by our congregation to show our commitment to Jesus, as the Eternal Son of God, the Only Savior, and the Cornerstone of the Church. The word Grace was included to demonstrate that salvation is not an act of the work or will of man but is a complete work by the grace of God. We serve a sovereign God who loved us enough to send His Holy Son Jesus to put on the flesh of mankind, walk sinlessly, and to die on the cross shedding His precious blood to pay for our sin. We have been bought with a price (the blood of Christ), and we believe our lives are being conformed to the image of the Son of God through sanctification.
1 Corinthians 1:11-13 NKJ
11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household , that there are contentions among you. 12 Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
We are a growing congregation committed to loving God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. We are also committed to loving our neighbors as ourselves. Cornerstone Grace is a congregation of people living our lives to glorify God. While we are sinners, we strive to live holy lives, and we hold one another accountable for living godly. Cornerstone Grace actively practices church discipline, as we believe that sinful behavior should be corrected. Discipline is not designed to punish someone, it is designed to lovingly help someone out of behavior and lifestyle that will cause God to punish them. Discipline is required to do most things well and we believe that the Spiritual life of the believer also benefits from proper discipline.
Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJ
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Cornerstone Grace Church is a non-denominational church, built on the tremendous heritage of the Southern Baptist church. Believing that there is to much division in the church today, the membership decided to leave all denominations and focus solely on Biblical Truth. We do not deny that there are many benefits to associational cooperation but there are also many pitfalls and dangers. The Bible tells us that Christ is not divided and His people should not be either.
